Arts and Athletics Overview

The Frankel Jewish Academy offers a wide range of opportunities for creative expression and physical challenge. Our academic day is demanding. By participating in visual and performing arts and in sports, students tap into “both sides of the brain,” stay physically fit, and benefit from the full high school experience.

The PAL block (performing and visual arts, athletics, life skills and languages) is scheduled during the last class period on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays. During their four years, students will have the opportunity to sample a variety of introductory level PAL classes or pursue fewer classes in depth. PAL courses are ever-evolving and currently include ceramics, painting and drawing, functional art, sewing, cooking, intramural sports, ACT preparation, choir, ensemble music. We also offer Spanish during the PAL block; any student wishing to take Spanish can be assured placement at the correct level.

After the school day, students can compete in our 15 interscholastic sports teams: Cross Country; Bowling; Girls Golf, Volleyball, Varsity Basketball, Soccer and Tennis; and Boys Varsity Soccer, Tennis, and Basketball; Boys Junior Varsity Tennis and Basketball; and Boys Golf, Tennis and Baseball.
