Athletics

The Jewish Academy believes in the importance of exercising the body as well as the mind and soul. Sports have been integral to FJA's program since the school's very first semester ten years ago.  Our athletics program, which utilizes the outstanding facilities at the Jewish Community Center, provides students with the opportunity to enhance their physical well-being. Students acquire motor skills, knowledge, and attitudes that can be utilized throughout life. Participation in Fall, Winter, and/or Spring interscholastic sports is a highlight of the athletics program.

Close to two-thirds of FJA students play at least one sport during any given semester, and with intramural sports, even more students are involved.  By rotating some of the school's sports into the off season, FJA is able to offer basketball and soccer to any student who might want to play. See a full listing of our interscholastic sports below. At FJA, activities that do not necessarily fit into interscholastics -- ultimate Frisbee, flag football and floor hockey -- are also a part of the program.

Sincerely,
