	11th & 12th grade summer work NON-AP Classes AP Literature AP Language Seniors-to-be Summer Writing project 10th grade summer reading Read any book by an American author. Please do not read books that will be on the syllabus for 10th grade American Literature. The books you may NOT read this summer are: The Catcher in the Rye, by J.D. Salinger The Crucible, by Arthur Miller The Great Gatsby, by F. Scott Fitzgerald The Color Purple, by Alice Walker. Please come to class prepared to respond to your reading in both a written and verbal form. 9th grade summer reading All students entering 9th grade must choose one of the following novels to read: Tuesdays with Morrie, by Mitch Albom The Baron in the Trees, by Italo Calvino A Separate Peace, by John Knowles The Golden Compass, by Philip Pullman Please come to class prepared to respond to your reading in both a written and verbal form.
