Mathematics Summer Review Packet
For Algebra I and Geometry Students
Experience has shown that the single greatest hurdle to success in any mathematics class is inadequate mastery of basic arithmetic skills. This packet is designed to give you an opportunity to review your basic skills over the summer and identify the areas you need to work on.
Please complete all the exercises without using a calculator. You may use separate sheets of paper to do the work. Please write neatly, show all steps of your work, and put a box around your final answer to each problem. All answers should be expressed in simplest form.
Please hand deliver or mail your answers, including all work, to FJA by July 25th. Corrected papers will be mailed back to you during the first week in August. You are expected to be able to solve all the problems without a calculator, and seek help as needed, before school starts.
All Algebra 1 and Geometry students will have a test on this material the first week of school. Knowledge of this material is a prerequisite to learning Algebra 1 and Geometry.
Do NOT use a calculator. If you need to use a calculator to solve these problems, that means you don't understand how to solve them.
The above links will download the exercises in PDF format. You'll need a PDF reader such as the Adobe Acrobat Reader to view the document. You can download Acrobat Reader at the link below:
