Welcome from the Director of Performing and Visual Arts

Frankel Jewish Academy’s Performing and Visual Arts Department actively prepares students to become supporters and participants of arts, while building confidence in their own creative expression.

FJA’s theater productions give students the confidence to take the risk – and enjoy the reward – of performing successfully before an audience on the Berman stage. This confidence translates into other areas of their lives. Through the arts experience, students explore the world, both individually and collaboratively and grow to recognize their own creative potential.

Through participation in the visual arts, students have the opportunity to learn basic and advanced skills, engage in numerous art exhibits and competitions and bring their creative work into the public sphere. FJA’s dedicated visual arts team – all professional artists in their fields – work hand in hand with our students offering guidance, support and individualized attention in a relaxed and caring environment.

Courses offered through the Performing and Visual Arts Department include Ceramics, Digital Photography, Music Ensemble, Playwriting, Drawing & Painting, Stagecraft, Video Production, Vocal Arts, and Woodworking.
