Boys Tennis Team Qualifies for MHSAA State Finals

At the beginning of fall, the boys tennis team discusses their goals for the season. In the last eight years, the number one goal has been to reach the MHSAA state finals. On Wednesday, the Jags accomplished that goal for the sixth time in eight years. The Jags went to Grosse Ile for the MHSAA Regional Tournament, finishing in second place to Milan High School. The second place finish was enough for the the team to make it to Ann Arbor on October 15 for the State Finals. They accomplished their goal by capturing six individual medals. The medalists were the #3 doubles team of Gabe Gordon ’23 and AJ Goodman ’23, #4 doubles team of Harry Shaevsky ’24 and Jonah Miller ’24, #3 singles player Aidan Charlip ’23 and #4 singles player Hayden Dean ’25.

The Jags started the day off at 10-0 receiving wins from #1 singles Ethan Grey ’23, #2 singles Max Charlip ’23, #3 singles Aidan Charlip, #4 singles Hayden Dean ’24, #1 doubles Eli Gordon ’22 and Tony Carson ’24, #2 doubles Matthew Kay ’22 and Caleb Klienfeldt ’22, #3 doubles Gabe Gordon ’23 and AJ Goodman ’23 and #4 doubles Harry Shaevsky ’24 and Jonah Miller ’24.
