10th Grade Portland Community Service Experience
This five-day experience provided by our partner Tivnu introduced students to the history, culture, and scenery of the Pacific Northwest, as well as provided an opportunity for students to do community service.
In keeping with FJA’s values of serving the Jewish and general community, students learned about the issue of affordable housing and helped build homes in a “tiny home” community. They learned about some of today’s most pressing social issues, including housing, food, and environmental challenges through a Jewish lens. They also had the opportunity to hike and explore the Pacific Northwest.
